Speaking with Patch Saturday, Cummings said the experience was "surreal. It was quite the spectacle."

Cummings said he was at Craft'D nearby when he got the call that someone had crashed into the restaurant. "I bolted down the street and saw the lights," he said. "Thankfully, we were closed."

Also, Cummings said, all the support and crossbeams remain intact and the building is fine structurally; no power lines were impacted, either. "As far as someone crashing into a building, we were about as lucky as you can get," he said.

As of Saturday at 11:30 a.m., all the tables were back inside and, with one section closed off and a tarp over some sheetrock, the restaurant was expected to open by about 12:30 p.m., Cummings said.

"We're back in business," he said.

And, Cummings added: "We are safe. That’s all that matters."
