Elderly Riverhead Man Robbed at Gunpoint, Struck With Gun in Driveway: Police
The suspect demanded his wallet, police said.

A Riverhead man was robbed at gunpoint in his own driveway yesterday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday regarding a report of an assault prior on Lewis Street in Riverhead.
The victim, 81, said he pulled into his driveway on Lewis Street, and, as he was sitting in his vehicle, an unknown man wearing a ski mask and gloves came up to his driver’s side door, police said. The suspect demanded his wallet and then struck the man in the face with a handgun, police said.

The victim handed over his walled, containing $180 in cash, police said; the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
