Firearms Stolen From Vehicle Outside Riverhead Hotel: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — Some of the firearms stolen from a vehicle parked outside a Riverhead hotel have been recovered, but the investigation is ongoing, police said.

According to the Riverhead Police Department, on Saturday at 8:16 a.m., a report came in from a guest at the Hyatt Place Long Island hotel on East Main Steet that sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, someone removed several firearms from a vehicle that was parked overnight in the hotel parking lot.

Later on Saturday, some of the firearms were recovered, police said.
