Long Island High School Teacher Charged With Rape
Veronica Pezdan, a math teacher at Shoreham-Wading River High School, had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, police said.
SHOREHAM, NY — A math teacher at Shoreham-Wading River High School was arrested Monday and charged with rape after having a sexual relationship with a student, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, Veronica Pezdan, 28, of Holbrook, was pulled over and arrested at 11 a.m. on the William Floyd Parkway in Shoreham after she left the high school. Pezdan engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student during the past two months, police said.
Pezdan was charged with two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct for arraignment at the 1st District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, police said.
