Hobby Lobby Set To Open On Route 58 In Riverhead
The new Hobby Lobby is expected to bring 35 to 50 jobs to the area, representatives of the chain say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A new location in the Hobby Lobby chain of craft and home decor stores is slated to open on Route 58 in Riverhead in mid-June.
The new 55,000 square-foot building is located at Osborn Avenue and Old Country Road and is expected to bring about 35 to 50 jobs to the area, paying $17 per hour for full-time employees and $14 per hour for part-time associates, a release said.
Hobby Lobby has 19 locations in New York.

“The success of our stores in New York is a good indicator that Riverhead shoppers will be pleased with the quality, selection, and value we offer in the craft and home decor market,” Kelly Black, director of advertising, said. “New customers and customers already familiar with the Hobby Lobby shopping experience are eagerly anticipating this store opening.”
Hobby Lobby has over 900 stores across the nation, each offering more than 70,000 crafting and home decor products including floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking, and paper crafting supplies, the release said.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sundays.
Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. began as Greco, a miniature picture frame company in 1970. When David Green moved his business from the family garage to a 300 square-foot retail space in 1972, Hobby Lobby was born; the chain is now the nation’s largest privately owned arts and crafts retailer, the release said.
