MASTIC BEACH, NY — A man was shot in Mastic Beach Monday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, at 6:15 p.m., Alejandro Gaway, 22, of Mastic Beach, was standing in a parking lot on Neighborhood Road when a man shot him in the leg then fled the scene.

Gawey was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
