Missing Man, 78, With Dementia Found Safely

RIVERHEAD, NY — A missing Riverhead man, 78, with dementia was found safely on Sunday, police said.

At 8:59 a.m., the man's family reported that he had left his home, police said. Riverhead police, along with the Riverhead Police Department's K-9 unit, Suffolk County Police Department's aviation unit, and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance conducted an extensive search and located the man in good health; he was returned to his family, police said.
