GREENPORT
• Brewery Birthday: Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. celebrates its fourth birthday this summer with their annual block party-style celebration featuring live music, and the release of a new anniversary brew. Tickets are $25, $30 at the door, and the party starts Saturday at 3 p.m.
• Author Reading: Author Carol Wilder will present her new book Crossing the Street in Hanoi, with readings, pictures, and a Q&A on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Library.
• Calypso on the Vine: Join San Simeon by the Sound for its annual fund raiser, at Duck Walk Vineyards, featuring wine pairings by Pace’s Restaurant, raw bar, Calypso music, raffle and more. Cost is $125, and starts at 4 p.m. Sunday.
PECONIC
• Watershed Restoration Update: 'Inside the Inlet,' an update on the work that's been done, what's going on, and what's to be done at Goldsmith's Inlet in Peconic, will be held on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon at the Southold Community Center on Peconic Lane.Â
NEW SUFFOLK
• House Tour: The Sweet & Savory House Tour, led by and benefitting the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund, will tour eight enchanting homes on Old Harbor Road, from a home built in the 1740s, to one built less than 10 years ago. Cost per ticket is $100. Tour begins at 2 p.m.
JAMESPORT
• Opera: 'An Evening of Opera Under the Stars' kicks off at Dilberto Winery on Manor Lane in Jamesport at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Belle Voci, Dana Kowalsick and Kathryn Zukowski, will be performing. Cost is $35, $40 at the door.
RIVERHEAD
• Motown Celebration: Swing on over to Suffolk Theater Friday night for a celebration of Motown, with Sugar & Spice Soul Band & the Sly Geralds going on at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $20.
• Paddle Battle: The first ever Paddle Battle Long Island will take place on Saturday, kicking off at 9 a.m. Kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards will compete in different distance categories. Cost is $50 per entry, or $65 on race day.
• Comedy Festival: Martha Clara Vineyards is hosting the touring Long Island Comedy Festival on Friday night. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
• Woodworking: Hosted by Hallockville Museum Farm, this series of courses taught by Tom Barry will include crafting handmade items utilizing "greenwoodworking." Courses are two hours long, and held in a series of Friday nights, Saturday mornings, or Sunday afternoons. Cost is $35.
• 'Surviving Sandy:' The work of Don Duga, the animator who created 'Frosty the Snowman,' will be on display at 73 Main. The boutique will host an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. for his show, titled 'Surviving Sandy.'
