PBMC Unveils 67.8M Critical Care Heart Center
The facility includes a rooftop helipad and a 16-bed intensive and cardiac care unit close to home for East End residents.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Officials at Peconic Bay Medical Center are set to unveil a new $67.8 million critical care heart center on Friday.
The new Corey Care Critical Care Paviliion and Kanas Regional Hart Center, to be dedicated at a ceremony in Riverhead, will provide state-of-the-art, quality critical and cardiac care services to East End residents who previously had to travel long distances for care.

The Corey Care Critical Care Pavilion, which was recently completed after three years of construction, is named in honor of Emilie Roy and Michael Corey, and includes a rooftop helipad and a 16-bed intensive and cardiac care unit. The facility is also the new, expanded home of the Kanas Regional Heart Center, which includes two cardiac catheterization laboratories, an electrophysiology suite and recovery rooms. The Kanas Regional Heart Center was made possible by the John and Elaine Kanas Family Foundation.
Working closely with Northwell Health physician partners’ local cardiology practices in Hampton Bays, Riverhead, Southampton and Wading River as well as Peconic Bay Medical Group to deliver coordinated, high-quality cardiac care for more than 250,000 East End residents, PBMC also features a cardiac rehabilitation program with the region’s largest staff of advanced cardiac life support-certified physical therapists and nurses.

Hospital representatives as well as elected officials are slated to attend Friday's unveiling at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
