Police: Fatal Car Accident in Riverside
A single car accident on Rt. 94 in Riverside resulted in a fatality. The police continue to investigate.
The State Police of Riverside responded to a report of a fatal single car accident on County Route 94, in Riverside in the Town of Southampton at approximately 3:24 Tuesday afternoon.
When Troopers arrived at the scene of the accident they determined that Saundra Highland, 76, had been traveling southbound in the left lane in her 2010 Ford when she drifted across the center median and struck a tree. She was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The Town of Southampton Police Department, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and the Riverhead Fire Department assisted the Troopers at the scene of the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing. The State Police request that anyone who witnessed the accident or who has information pertaining to the crash call 631-208-9002.
