Riverhead High School Senior Signs to Play Volleyball at Georgia Southern University

The senior signed on March 26.

Riverhead High School senior Joscelin Morrow has signed to play volleyball for the Georgia Southern University Eagles next year on Thursday, March 26.

Her volleyball coach at the high school this year was Amy Greene, who was assisted by Kristen Andrejack.

Her volleyball club coaches were her mother, Nancy Morrow, and assistant coaches John Bohnenblusch and Sam Jablonski.

Morrow’s position on the Varsity Volleyball Team is as a Libero/Defensive Specialist.

  • Sophomore Year: 177 digs, 26 aces, 11 kills; in 13 games
  • Junior Year: 443 digs, 23 aces, 26 kills; in 16 games
  • Senior Year: 313 digs, 292 serve receive passes, 24 aces, 61 kills, 77 assists; in 17 games
  • Total High School Career: 933 digs, 73 aces, 98 kills
  • School Record: most digs in a match with 41

She has won several awards at the Suffolk County Awards Dinner including: All League IV Player 2012; Rookie of the Year 2012; All Classification 2013; Defensive Player of the Year 2013; All Classification 2014; All County Academic 2014.

She also received awards the Riverhead High School Varsity Awards Night including: for Volleyball: Coaches Award (2012-2013 and 2013-2014); and for Softball: Most Improved (2012-2013).

At the Capitol Hill Classic (Travel Tournament), Morrow received the award for Best Digger – 18 Club (2014).

She has played volleyball all 4 years (3 on varsity) and has been playing travel volleyball since 8th grade.

She also played varsity softball her freshman and sophomore year.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and is Vice President of the Foreign Language National Honor Society.

Morrow was in CAP her freshman year, chess club last year and her class rank is 12th.

She will be attending Georgia Southern University in August and is undecided about a major at this time.
