Riverhead High School Student Signs at Pace University

Amanda Dickerson, midfield defender for the varsity lacrosse team, has signed to play lacrosse at the university.

Riverhead High School student Amanda Dickerson has signed to play lacrosse at Pace University next year.

She is currently a midfield defender on the varsity lacrosse team.

“Amanda is one of the strongest leaders on our team,” Varsity Lacrosse Coach Ashley King said, “Amanda is one of the strongest leaders on our team. She’s very unselfish and thrives on being a behind the scenes workhorse.”

Dickerson excels in sports, leadership and academics. She is in the top 6% of her class, a member of the National Honor Society and the National Foreign Language Honor Society, the Interact Club, and is the Student Government secretary.

She is also a “super forward” on the field hockey team and was on the track team and played volleyball for two years.

“When Amanda was in 7th grade, she went to a two hour lacrosse clinic at the high school. She came out, got in the car and asked, ‘Can we go buy a stick?’ She’s a wonderful daughter and we are very proud of her,” her mom, Nancy Dickerson said.
