Food will be distributed in Stotzky Park on Thursday, Feb. 18, town says.

RIVERHEAD, NY — With the pandemic still a source of food insecurity for many, Riverhead town officials and Island Harvest have teamed up to help the hungry.
A food distribution event will take place Thursday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. until noon in Stotzky Park, located at 55 Columbus Avenue in Riverhead.
Riverhead Town Councilman Frank Beyrodt, also a board member for Island Harvest, was instrumental in coordinating the effort to distribute about 600 pre-packed boxes containing
35 lbs. of fresh produce, meat, and dairy products to area residents, a release said.

Should there be inclement weather, the food distribution event will be postponed and a new date will be announced. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, officials said.
