Riverhead Teen Arrested on Graffiti Charges
Riverhead Police report the teenager and another unknown male were observed painting gang-related graffiti at a business.

Officers from the C.O.P.E. Unit of the Riverhead Town Police department arrested a 16-year-old male after they witnessed him painting MS-13 gang graffiti on the outside wall of a Riverhead business Saturday night.
According to the report, officers witnessed the Riverhead teen and another unknown subject tagging the wall at True Tech, 680 Elton St., around 11 p.m. on May 9. Both subjects fled on foot as the officers attempted to apprehend them, the report stated.
The 16-year-old male was subsequently taken into custody nearby on Phillips Street and arrested on a Making Graffiti charge. The second suspect, an unknown subject, was not apprehended.

Upon being placed into custody, the teenager was transported to the Riverhead Town Police Department where he was processed and held for arraignment.
