Missing Puppy Found In Hamptons: 'She's The Sweetest Dog'
"Thank you so much to everyone that pitched in and helped find our little girl!"

EAST HAMPTON, NY — It was a happy ending for a woman searching for her dog Sunny, who went missing in East Hampton Monday morning.
"Sunny has been found," Valerie Smith wrote. "Thank you so much to everyone that pitched in and helped find our little girl!"
A kindhearted person reportedly found Sunny and brought her to the shelter until her owner could be found.

According to Smith, Sunny was last seen at 9 a.m. at the Maidstone Club on Old Beach Lane; she was wearing a red collar and was last seen near the Maidstone cabanas near Egypt Beach.
Sunny is a 7-month old Golden Retriever. According to Smith, she took Sunny to the same place that they go every morning, the Maidstone Club parking lot near the cabanas, and as she does every day, she let her out of the car. Normally, Sunny "marches around, sniffs, and then comes back to the car, and we go for a little walk," Smith said.

Smith and Sunny normally meet up with another dog owner whose pet is Sunny's friend, she said.
But on Monday, after about seven minutes, Sunny hadn't returned as she normally would. Smith got out of the car and looked by the cabanas and sidewalk, but her beloved pup was nowhere to be found.
"There was absolutely no sign of her. She had vanished," she said. There were no other cars, no other dogs. "It's like she was just snatched by an alien; it's just horrible," Smith said, her voice breaking.
When the other dog walker arrived, they searched the area and called her name, to no avail. "She was just gone. She just wasn't there," Smith said.
As the day progressed, a group of people started walking the beach and golf course, searching for Sunny.
"She's never gone on Main Beach by herself," Smith said. "She's not a 'fraidy cat but she's not a roamer."
The community, she said, has been "amazing," gathering to help.
Of Sunny, Smith said: "She loves every dog she's ever met in her life, ever person. She's the sweetest, most loving, best, gentlest, kindest dog. Just the most wonderful dog. She's just sunny."
Tears in her voice, Smith added: "We've just got to get her home."
