Shoreham-Wading Senior A National Merit Scholarship Finalist

The Merit Scholarship award is based on abilities, skills, and accomplishments, the school district says.

SHOREHAM-WADING RIVER, NY — A Shoreham-Wading River High School senior has made his hometown proud, advancing to finalist standing in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Daniel Julian took the qualifying test as a junior and is now among about 15,000 high school students nationwide who were awarded the distinction, the district said.

Next, about half of those students will be selected to receive a Merit Scholarship award, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments, the district said. Winners will be announced in the spring.

"Daniel’s finalist designation exemplifies the district’s high level of student achievement and academically rigorous program for all students," the district said.
