Shots Fired In Aquebogue Wednesday Night

An investigation is ongoing Thursday morning, police say.

AQUEBOGUE, NY — Shots were fired in Aquebogue Wednesday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, at 10:13 p.m., a call came in regarding a disturbance with possible gunshots in the area of Trout Brook Lane.

Officers secured the scene, ascertained that there were no injuries, then interviewed the homeowner, who said he'd heard gunshots in front of his home, police said. Spent shell casings were found in front of the residence, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded to assist in the investigation, later finding two spent rounds within the home, police said.
