Woman Charged With DWI After Crashing Into PSEG Police: Police
The Greenport woman crashed into a PSEG pole located in Mattituck, causing some residents to lose power, police say.
NORTH FORK, NY —A Greenport woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday night after she crashed into a PSEG Long Island pole, causing some residents to lose power, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Karla Rivas, 20, of Greenport East, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. on Westphalia Road in Mattituck and charged with DWI, first offense, and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, police said.
Rivas was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra south on Westphalia Road when she hit the pole — and drove away from the scene until her vehicle broke down, police said.

Rivas was found to be intoxicated, arrested, and taken to Southold Town Police headquarters for processing; she was held for morning arraignment, police said.
