Ardsley HS senior inspires Town Bd with presentation -Tourette
Alexandra Cuttler is a Youth Ambassador and has increased awareness
ARDSLEY HIGH SCHOOL RISING SENIOR INSPIRES GREENBURGH TOWN BD WITH HER PRESENTATION ABOUT TOURETTE SYNDROME AWARENESS
Alexandra Cuttler, a 17 year old student at Ardsley High School (going into her senior year) was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome in 2016. Tourette's syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder that frequently begins in childhood or adolescence It is characterized by multiple motor and vocal tics. Common tics are blinking, coughing, throat clearing and facial movements.
She is a member of the Mid Hudson Valley chapter of the Tourette Association America, who help to raise raise awareness and provide support. She was named Tourette Youth Ambassador in 2018, and has made many presentations to community members ever since. Alexandra has spoken at Town Board meetings in the past and her efforts resulted in the state lighting up the Mario Cuomo bridge in recognition of Tourettes. Personal facts would be that she likes dogs, and is a swimmer.
