What business are you in?

WE CHANGE LIVES...We get our members into the best shape they can be. We use the age-old training of boxing, without the contact and risk of injury associated with it.

How did you come up with the name? 

It's a Franchise...TITLE Boxing is one of the BIGGEST retailers of sporting goods in the world. Tom Lyons and Danny Campbell started TITLE Boxing Club in Overland Park, Kansas, and were friends with the owners of TITLE Boxing. They partnered up and used the brand name that people already knew.

Why start a business in this town?

I was lucky enough to buy the franchise rights in Lower Westchester County. We researched the best we could and thought that there was a need for this type of training in this area. We also wanted to have a ring, 50+ heavy bags and a full complement of strength equipment. That takes a large floor area, something we found in Ardsley. We also have 40+ parking spaces available whenever we need. We feel that convenience and safety for our members is important. We have been received by the community with open arms....we feel we are in the right place.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

Two things actually. We need to get our name out there. We have been open for four months and people still walk in the door and say "wow, I never knew you were here." The other is that people aren't sure what we are when they pass by or here our name. We are the best boxing workout you can do....except for the contact (no broken bones or blood, long-term issues with concussions). We get members into the best shape of their lives.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

That's another tough question. It's been four months of one great moment after another. We have members who suffer from anxiety and depression tell us that boxing and TITLE have turned their lives around. Members in their 70s telling us they are doing things they haven't done in years. Watching 12-year-olds grow stronger and more confident every time they come through the door. It's been really fulfilling making a difference.

How does your business give back to the community?

We have hosted the Girl Scouts a few times already. We also sponsor a girls softball Team in Ardsley. We did a team-building class with the Ardsley HS Girls Varsity Basketball Team before the playoffs. We have a partnership with our friends in the Ardsley Special Education Dept. We also have ties to the Westchester Youth Police Academy. When you love your community, giving back is easy.
