Chance Of Snow For Dobbs Ferry's First Work Week In 2019

Wind gusts will get the year started throughout the region.

DOBBS FERRY, NY — In the Hudson Valley, 2019 started out with bluster but the week will feature classically wintry weather: chance of snow. Still, with the temperatures moving between the 30s and the 40s, what may arrive could be mostly rain.

Wind advisories have been issued for the region by the National Weather Service. A wintry mix of precipitation is possible Wednesday night into Thursday.

Here's what the National Weather Service says for southern Westchester:

  • New Year's Day: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 41 by 5pm. Breezy, with a northwest wind 21 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 48 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northwest wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.
  • Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 30. Calm wind.
  • Thursday: A slight chance of rain and snow before 11am, then a slight chance of rain between 11am and 2pm. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 41. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30.
  • Friday: Sunny, with a high near 44.
  • Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.
