Colder, Clearing: Dobbs Ferry's Work Week Weather

DOBBS FERRY, NY — After having been warmer than normal at the beginning, October's middle will be cooler than normal, forecasters say.

"Sun will be with us (mixed with clouds) through the rest of the week, along with cool temps in the 50s for highs," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Watch out for midweek, though.

"For many areas, Wednesday may be the most blustery day since early last spring or late last winter," according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski. "AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures will dip to as much as 20 degrees lower than the actual temperature. Conditions are likely to bring a hard, killing freeze to much of the interior Northeast during Wednesday night."

Here's the NWS's work-week forecast for southern Westchester:

• Monday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Monday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 41. South wind 11 to 14 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 56. West wind around 8 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40. Southwest wind around 6 mph.
• Wednesday: A slight chance of rain after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Light southwest wind becoming west 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Wednesday Night: Areas of frost after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
• Thursday: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 47.
• Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.
• Friday: Sunny, with a high near 60.
• Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
