Rivertowns Pass Budget, Get New Board Members

Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry and Irvington School District residents approved a spending plan for the 2013-14 year Tuesday. Residents of the latter two districts also selected new members to their boards of education.

There were a 552 votes for and 264 votes against Hasting-on-Hudson's budget. Caryn Campbell and Wendy Naidich both recieved 629 in the uncontested election.

Dobbs Ferry's budget passed with 433 votes for the budget and 189 against it. Irvington's budget got the green light with 61 percent of the vote, 1,027 voting yes and 659 voting no.

Dobbs Ferry is welcoming Louis Schwartz as a new member to the board who received 441 votes. Incumbents Mike Goldman (428 votes) and Meg Lauer (412) will serve another term, while incumbent Jeff O' Donnell lost his seat with 335 votes.

John Montgomery is the new member on the Irvington School Board, receiving 922 votes. Incumbent and Board President Robert Grados got 793 votes and will keep his seat. David Graeber (676) and Seth Oster (596) lost the election.
