Funeral Services Announced for Ellen Brody, Edgemont Woman Killed in Metro-North Tragedy

The funeral for Ellen Brody, the Edgemont woman identified as the driver of the SUV killed in the Metro-North tragedy in Mount Pleasant, will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, the Journal News reports.

The funeral will be held 10 a.m. at Chabad of the Rivertowns located at 303 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry.

Brody, 49, and her husband, Alan, a South African native, were a prominent Edgemont family and active members of the Chabad of the Rivertowns.

On its website, the organization mourned the loss saying, “We mourn the passing of Ellen Brody, whose warmth and smile added so much to our community. She will be missed by all.”

Rabbi Benjy Silverman’s wife, Hinda Silverman, posted on Facebook that the community continues to be there for Brody’s husband Alan and her three children, Danielle, Julia and Alexa.
