GPS, Cash, Jewelry Reported Missing from Cars in Hastings

Multiple residents reported to Hastings-on-Hudson Police that items were missing from their vehicles.

At 7:08 a.m. October 7, a Broadway resident went into police headquarters to report her Honda had been broken into sometime between the evening of October 5 and that morning.

She reported an emergency kit worth $50, a GPS worth $500, $100 in cash, a $15 phone charger and multiple pieces of jewelry worth $400 were missing.

Responding police reported there did not appear to be signs of forced entry to the vehicle.

Police received a call at 4:57 p.m. October 7 from a resident who said his Honda had been entered unlawfully sometime since 9 p.m. the evening before. The man said the vehicle had been entered through the passenger side door, which was unlocked. CDs, a backpack, sunglasses and an iPhone charger worth $300 cumulatively were reported missing.

The following afternoon, at 3:26 p.m., a Jefferson Avenue resident went into police headquarters and said his vehicle had been parked on Cochran Avenue the day prior and had been broken into sometime before 7:30 a.m. that morning. He reported Bose headphones, loose change, a booster pack, two sweaters and miscellaneous hand tools were missing.
