Greenburgh Man Accused Of Weapon, Drug Charges
Police said a search warrant yielded illegal drugs, an illegal handgun and $100,000 cash

GREENBURGH, NY — A Greenburgh man was accused of having illegal drugs and a weapon after a joint investigation between the Greenburgh Police Department's Street Crimes Unit and the City of New Rochelle Police Department's Special Investigations Unit. John J. Cox III, 28, of Elmsford, was arrested Wednesday for a firearm offense and numerous drug offenses.
Police said a search warrant was executed at an address on Winthrop Avenue in Elmsford and about 27 grams of cocaine, 17 plastic twists of crack-cocaine, 100 pills of oxycodone, 41 Adderall pills, one loaded 9mm Taurus handgun with its serial numbers defaced, 79 pounds of ammunition and about $100,000 cash were recovered.

- Four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell a stimulant, felonies
- Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies
- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony
- Three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies
Cox was arraigned in the Greenburgh Town Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail.
