Hastings Investigates Brush Fires as Arson
The Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department believes that two brush fires near the Pioneer Boat Club were intentionally set.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department extinguished a large brush fire at the end of Southside Avenue on a beachfront area off the Hudson River, near the Pioneer Boat Club, on April 28 only to return about three hours to put out a second fire.
Village officials believe that both fires were intentionally set and are investigating the incidents as arson.

The first brush fire was reported around 4:10 p.m. near the bridge that connects the boat club with Southside Avenue, while the second was reported at 6:50 p.m. There was no damage done to the boat club or bridge.Â
