Irvington High School Senior Signs Letter of Intent for Track and Field Scholarship

Irvington High School senior Kiana Lee signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday to accept a scholarship for Track and Field at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
Lee officially signed in front of family, coaches and administrators on April 29 at Irvington High School.
“Kiana is a tremendously talented individual in and outside of the classroom, and she has made the District and high school administration very proud,” said Athletic Director Arthur McCormack in a statement. “Over the years, she has represented us with great pride, maintained an impressive work ethic and has accomplished so much in her time at Irvington High School. We congratulate her on committing to the University of North Carolina- Charlotte and wish her great success for years to come.”

According to school officials, Lee holds 10 school records, and she recently won the Section I State Qualifier in the 300-meter race with a time of 39.31, the fifth fastest all-time record in Westchester County and sixth fastest time in Section I history.
Lee anchored the girls 4 x 400 relay at the 2013 New York Outdoor State Meet to a second place finish in division two and eighth in the federation in a time of 3:56.89, a time which still stands as the school record. At the 2015 New York Indoor State Meet, she ran the 300-meter race and was second place among public schools and third place in the federation. Her 200 meter time of 24.98 ranks her sixth all-time in Westchester and ninth all-time in Section One.

“The District and Irvington High School administration congratulates Lee on her outstanding achievement and wishes her great success in the future,” officials said.
