IRVINGTON, NY — Two dogs that fell through the ice in an Irvington lake were rescued Saturday by a Yonkers man and his own dog who apparently didn't think twice about jumping in the frigid waters to help. Timofey Yuriev was walking through the Irvington Woods at the O'Hara Nature Center when he saw two dogs trying to cross the ice-covered lake.

Yuriev saw that the dogs were in trouble and he undressed and swam into the water making a path through the ice, with his dog Kira following him, abc7ny.com.

No surprise that Yuriev grew up in Siberia where he learned to swim in icy waters.
