Marijuana, Prescription Drug Arrest in Hastings

A 23-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Hastings-on-Hudson Police arrested a 23-year-Brooklyn man for drug possession on May 16 on Lefurgy Avenue. Police said they observed the man in his car with a passenger and smelled marijuana when they approached the vehicle.

The 23-year-old is accused of having two clear plastic bags of dried plant leaves and a prescription pill bottle for alprozam, a benzodiazepine anti-anxiety medication that was missing its label and contained 17 pills.  

He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor and released on $200 bail.
