Marlies’Artbeat: Met’s 2018-2019 Season Glistens with Big Stars
Yannik Nézet-Séguin, Met's new Music Director, starting 2 years ahead of plan, is only top of fantastic roster of opera luminaries.

What a season is planned! The lineup features virtually every current leading light on the opera horizon. It certainly should resuscitate the Met reputation which may have been tarnished by the #MeToo debacle.
The schedule includes such nuggets as a new Samson et Dalila, an American premiere of the commissioned Marnie (of Hitchcock movie fame) and a revival of the Lepage production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. The artistic pleasure anticipated is fully represented in the Live-at-the-Met-in-HD transmissions which have proved to be so popular. Currently in over 800 movie houses in the US alone, they are transmitted to 2,200 theaters in more than 70 countries around the globe.
