Nonprofit Breast Milk Bank Opens in Hudson Valley

Once donors are approved, the breast milk can be dropped off at several locations in the region or have it shipped for free.

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — A nonprofit, community-based breast-milk bank held its grand opening Wednesday in Hastings-on-Hudson.

FIOS1 News said the New York Milk Bank was the only local milk bank that collects breast milk from donors.

According the organization’s website, the New York Milk Bank is “dedicated to improving the health and survival of infants in need by providing them with safely pasteurized donor human milk when their mothers’ own milk is unavailable or insufficient.”
