Sentence In Irvington Restaurant Stabbing Death
Rosa Ramirez of New York City, who admitted killing a coworker, will be going to prison.
IRVINGTON, NY — The New York City woman who pleaded guilty to stabbing a restaurant coworker to death will be going prison, possibly for the rest of her life. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Thursday that Rosa Ramirez, 29, of New York City, received her sentence for the 2018 stabbing death of Bonifacio "Boni" Rodriquez, 38, of Yonkers.
She will serve 17 years to life in state prison, having pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder, a felony.
During the sentencing, Rodriquez's family was in court, according to prosecutors. Assistant District Attorney Kerrie William read victims' impact statements from Anselma Antonio, Rodriquez's wife.

"My husband was everything to me," her statement read in part, "he was my partner, my support, my only family. He gave everything for his family."
Besides statements from other family members, a letter from the owner of River City Grille, where the murder took place, said Rodriquez had 20 years experience at the establishment and grew from day laborer to trusted prep cook and friend.

Authorities said, on April 10, 2018, Ramirez was in the River City Grille on Broadway in Irvington, working as a dishwasher, along with other kitchen staff.
Just after 11 a.m., she attacked the prep cook — Rodriquez — with a kitchen knife. He tried to protect himself but was stabbed multiple times.
Another employee in the kitchen tried to intervene but was also threatened, but not injured.
Rodriquez was taken to Westchester County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Ramirez had only been employed at the restaurant for a few days. She was apprehended shortly afterward in the vicinity of the restaurant.
