Karl I. Beitin, 79, of Dobbs Ferry passed away suddenly on July 20, 2015.

Karl had a long, successful career in design and consulting engineering after receiving his PhD in Engineering from the University of Michigan. In addition, he was a professor at Pratt Institute for 10 years. Karl founded and was still actively leading his own engineering firm, Beitin Associates in New York City. He was a kind and caring person and will be sorely missed.

Karl is survived by his children Leila (Herb) Hooper, Ben (Renee), Clara and Anna Beitin and six grandchildren Samuel, Noah, Alina and Jason Hooper and Ariana and Niya Beitin. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan in 1993.

Mass of the Resurrection 9:30 am Monday Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry. Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry handled the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Michigan Engineering Scholarship Fund at the University of Michigan. Details.
