Supermarket Proposed For Greenburgh
The market already has a presence in Westchester. What would you what to see come to Greenburgh?

GREENBURGH, NY — If all goes well, the town will be getting a new supermarket, though no one will say which supermarket it might be. Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said the trustees recently heard from Robert Baker, chairman of National Realty & Development Corporation, and William Null, an attorney at Cuddy & Feder, about the proposed supermarket they hope will be approve.
The site is in Elmsford, across from Sam's Club, and is where the Greenburgh Multiplex Cinemas currently is. The moviehouse will be closing at the end of May because its lease was not renewed.
The supermarket, the name of which was not disclosed by Baker or Null, will be 69,000 square feet. The movie theater will be demolished and the developer will regrade the property.

Feiner said he will be asking Baker to reconsider not announcing the name of the supermarket, however he was told the supermarket is well known and already has a presence in Westchester.
Still, Feiner said he thinks "it's important for the community to have the opportunity to have a dialogue with the supermarket during the approval process."

He said the town has no ability to dictate what market goes on the property because it's private property.
