Where to Hunt for Easter Eggs in the Rivertowns

Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudson will each hold its festive family event this weekend.

The river villages of Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudson will each hold their annual egg hunts this weekend. Though egg hunts are generally associated with Easter, you don’t have to celebrate the holiday to join in on the fun.

According to the Huffington Post—for many cultures the egg is a symbol of new life, rebirth and fertility. Iranians decorate eggs on their New Year, which falls on the spring equinox, while some say it is a Pagan symbol for the rebirth of the earth. For Christians, it is a symbol for the tomb and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Click here for more on the history of the Easter egg.
