FL Condo Collapse: Former HV Resident Among Missing

ARDSLEY, NY — A former Ardsley resident is among the nearly 100 people missing in the building collapse in Surfside, Florida.

While her name was not released, her family said the woman lived in the part of the building that collapsed, News 12 reported.

Officials have said that 99 people are missing in the rubble of the 12-story oceanfront Champlain Towers South Condo that happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

First responders searching the site for survivors have heard sounds from the rubble, State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis told CNN.

Authorities did not say what may have caused the collapse.
