Woman Rescued From Hudson River

She had been clinging to her sailboat for a half hour, police said.

IRVINGTON, NY — An Irvington woman was rescued from the Hudson River Friday. The 31-year-old, who has not been identified, was clinging to a sailboat whose mast had collapsed.

Westchester County police said she was thrown from the 8-foot sailboat and received a head injury, the Journal News reported.

She swam back to the craft and was rescued after 911 received a call from the woman's husband and people who could see the incident from their office.

Westchester County police said she had been adrift for 30 minutes, according to a Facebook post.
