Celebrate Literature At The Annual Word Up: Literary Festival

The annual event will bring renowned authors to Long Island to discuss their works and their craft.

On March 26, the Madison Theatre at Molloy College will be hosting the third annual Word Up: Long Island Literary Festival, and there's still time for you to get tickets.

The festival features author readings, workshops and book signings from many well-known authors. Guests include Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist Dave Barry, "Passages" author Gail Sheehy, Emmy-nominated writer Bill Scheft, and many more.

The event runs from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Madison Theatre, located on Molloy's Campus, at 1000 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre. General admission is $40, and includes two sessions of author talks and readings, plus two introductory workshops on essay writing and storytelling.

Those who arrive at noon will get access to a free workshop on personal essay writing by Emmy-winning writer Iyna Bort Caruso or a beginner's storytelling workshop by Moth GrandSLAM champ Tracey Segarra.
