  • The owner of Jeans for Less, located at 12A North Park Ave., reported to police on Nov. 22 that an unknown person(s) stole two jackets and two sweatshirts valued at $168 total from a clothing rack outside his store sometime between Nov. 19 at 9 p.m. and Nov. 20 at 10 a.m.

  • A Lakeview Avenue resident reported to police on Nov. 20 at 2:58 p.m. that he received a fraudulent check for $1,468 in the mail and was requested to return $990 to the sender regarding a purported shopping survey.

  • A West Hempstead resident reported to police on Nov. 20 at 4:49 p.m. that an unknown person attempted to rent a Morris Avenue residence to him without the homeowner’s authorization.

  • A New York Avenue resident reported to police on Nov. 21 at 3:53 p.m. that she observed a suspicious occupied vehicle on New York Avenue in the vicinity of five children playing in a front yard.

  • A Meehan Lane resident reported to police on Nov. 22 at 2 a.m. that sometime since Nov. 18, he was defrauded of $2,155 as a result of a scam on Craigslist.

  • A Southard Avenue resident reported to police on Nov. 22 at 10:18 a.m. that an unknown person(s) attempted to cash a fraudulent check from her business at a Chase Bank located in Florida.

  • A South Lewis Place resident reported to police on Nov. 23 at 12:05 p.m. that an unknown person(s) made unauthorized purchases from her Mastercard credit card account.
