Crime Watch, Part II: Student Followed Home From Bus Stop

Larceny

  • On Jan. 7 at 11:33 a.m., the manager of Karp Kia, located at 372 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that an unknown person(s) stole 17 catalytic converters valued at $34,000 total from new automobiles parked at the dealership.
  • On Jan. 13 at 1:10 p.m., a complainant from Franklin Square reported that at approximately 12:30 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole her Apple iPod Touch, valued at $250, while at Cabo Restaurant, located at 3A N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Unusual Incident

  • On Jan. 7 at 10:04 a.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that on Jan. 2, an unknown person(s) called and attempted to have her pay a $450 fee for supposed lottery winnings of $2.5 million.
  • On Jan. 9 at 3:54 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that between Nov. 12 and Dec. 9, an unknown person(s) made $1962.74 in unauthorized transactions against her Discover card account.
  • On Jan. 11 at 3:15 p.m., an 11-year-old complainant from Stonewell Road in Rockville Centre reported that he believed a Honda motor vehicle occupied by two males followed him from the bus stop at Stonewell Road and Virginia Avenue to his residence.
  • On Jan. 13 at 2:40 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person(s) made unauthorized transactions totaling $3,546.06 against her Citibank credit card since Dec. 18.

  • On Jan. 7 at 8:38 a.m., a complainant from Garden City reported that on Nov. 14 at 7:05 p.m., he was harassed by the boyfriend of his former wife while in front of 100 Banks Ave. in Rockville Centre.
  • On Jan. 10 at 7:35 p.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that a former boyfriend of his wife was observed on his property on three separate occasions causing annoyance and alarm.
  • On Jan. 10 at 11 a.m., a complainant from Rockville Centre reported that a patient at Mercy Medical Center threw a water pitcher at her, causing annoyance and alarm.
  • On Jan. 10 at 11 a.m., a security guard from Mercy Medical Center reported that a patient threatened him, causing annoyance and alarm.
