Crime Watch Part Two: Amityville Man Beat Up On North Park

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Property Damage:

On July 27 at 11:20 p.m., an Oceanside resident reported her 2011 BMW was damaged by unknown means while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 7 between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Larceny:

On July 23 at 9 p.m., an Oceanside resident reported an unknown person entered her vehicle and stole her wallet and iPod while it was parked in MPF No. 8 behind Sky Athletics.

On July 25 at 11:30 p.m., a N. Village Avenue resident reported her cell phone and camera were stolen from her apartment on July 24 while moving company workers were present to move her property from her former apartment on Lincoln Avenue to her new one on N. Village Avenue.

On July 25 at 10:30 p.m., a Laurelton resident reported his cell phone and wallet were stolen from a locker at Bally’s gym on Merrick Road.

On July 25 at 7:25 p.m., an Oceanside resident reported his bicycle was stolen from the RVC LIRR station during the day.
 
On July 26 at 5 p.m., a Cedar Avenue resident reported her son’s bicycle was stolen from the front lawn between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On July 26 at 10:15 p.m., a N. Forest Avenue resident reported her son’s bicycle was stolen from their yard between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Assault:

On July 28 at 3:30 a.m., an Amityville resident reported he sustained a laceration above his eye and a contusion to his nose after being punched by an unknown person on N. Park Avenue.

Graffiti:

On July 23 at 6:01 p.m., an employee at Long Island Blood Services, located at 290 Sunrise Highway, reported graffiti on the building wall.

On July 26 at 3 p.m., graffiti was observed on a traffic light box and sign at Demott Ave./N.Village Ave.

On July 26 at 3:20 p.m., graffiti was observed on the LIRR pillars near Morris Avenue.

Attempted Burglary:

On July 28 at 4:16 a.m., the manager at a convenience store on N. Village Avenue reported a man attempted to gain entry through the locked front door of the store. Upon opening the front door to confront the man, the manager observed a second man leaning inside his vehicle which was parked on N. Village Avenue. Both men then fled on foot toward Quealy Place. Upon inspecting his vehicle, the victim found his GPS unit had been stolen.
