CURRAN DELIVERS EASTER & PASSOVER BASKETS TO THE HISPANIC BROTHERHOOD IN ROCKVILLE CENTRE

Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) recently delivered, for the fifth year in a row, Easter and Passover baskets to the children and families in the Rockville Centre Community through the Hispanic Brotherhood. This year’s 35 baskets were generously donated by Walmart and Curran.

“These holidays hold such great significance for Christians and Jewish people; Easter is a time when people celebrate their faith with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and I’ve always been moved by the Haggadah’s opening call in the Seder for ‘all who are hungry, come and eat; all who are needy, come and celebrate Passover,’” said Curran. “As it is every year, it was great to see such support from the community. We cannot do this without their generous support. The thanks and smiles that fill the homes of families are priceless, and there is no greater feeling than making their holiday special.”

Curran reached out to the community for their support in helping the less fortunate in the community by collecting food, toys and other gifts for the holiday baskets. Walmart has consistently partnered with Curran to donate Easter baskets. During his rounds, Curran thanked the donors for their generous contributions, the volunteers who helped put the baskets together and those who helped deliver them. The Christian Easter holiday was Sunday, March 27 and the Jewish holiday of Passover begins at sundown on Friday, April 22. Curran also thanked Kelly Carruthers-Jensen, Oceanside Stop and Shop, James Nemeth, 1 in 9: Hewlett House with Geri Barish, Lucille Siegal and Steven Kalka, Diane Baumann, Kidz Entertainment Inc., and Ray Kerr and Lois Bercu, for their generous donations.
