Dirty Taco And Tequila Opens In Rockville Centre: PHOTOS

Dirty Taco and Tequila, which has a location in Wantagh, has opened for business in Rockville Centre.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A new taco and booze joint has opened in Rockville Centre nearly a year after opening its first Long Island location in Wantagh.

Dirty Taco and Tequila, an eatery that aims to bring the LA taco experience with Asian influences to Nassau County, opened this month on the corner of Sunrise Highway near North Village Avenue.

The restaurant hosted its grand opening Aug. 9, offering Kung Pao chicken tacos, pork carnitas, Korean-Thai wings, Kona draft beers, and plenty of tequila.

Customers can sit at tables, the bar or even at custom made barrel tables.

"As our sister location in Wantagh...people can’t get enough of Dirty Taco...Thank you to the Town, the Officials, the Residents and fellow business neighbors of RVC and to our Dirty Taco fans for your support," the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday. "We are happy to be here."

An accompanying video showed about 20 hungry patrons standing outside waiting to be seated.

No one answered the phone number listed for the new location. As Patch previously reported when the first Long Island location opened up last year, Thomas Cataldo, Jr. wanted to bring the unique Los Angeles taco style to the island, turning to his mother and her decades of restaurant experience for expertise. Together, the dynamic mother-son duo, who are Massapequa natives, opened Dirty Taco and Tequila on Merrick Road in Wantagh.

"An LA taco has an Asian influence within it," Cataldo's mother, AnnMarie, told Patch. " The Korean short rib with kimchi and spicy mayo is our signature taco. Kung Pao chicken or Vietnamese shrimp are just some of the many Asian-American influenced tacos on the menu. We are as much Asian as we are Mexican. The slogan 'No Boundaries' sums it up."
