Front Line Fighters: Profiles Of Coronavirus Local Heroes

Today's local hero is an emergency room doctor who overcame her own COVID-19 infection, and whose hard work is making her family proud.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY—As Long Islanders practice social distancing and make personal sacrifices as part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, many look to those on the front lines as inspiration. Patch will be highlighting Long Islanders who are going above and beyond in their work and community to help during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Andrea Tse, of West Babylon, nominated her sister Maria Rosero. Rosero is an emergency room physician at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre. Working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, she contracted the virus and has since recovered.

Tse tells Patch that "She’s back in the emergency room helping patients battle this virus. We’re all so proud of her."

Rosero and her family are happy to report that none of her three children have shown any symptoms of the coronavirus and are doing well.
