Molloy College Cancels Fall Sports Season Due To Coronavirus
The college is working on a plan to reschedule the sports for the winter.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Molloy College announced today that it is canceling its fall 2020 sports season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Molloy is the latest institution to make the decision on sports. Earlier today, Hofstra University announced that it was also canceling its fall sports season. The college decision comes just a day after the New York State Public High School Athletic Association announced that it was delaying the start of the high school fall sport season from Aug. 24 to Sept. 21.
"We understand that all of our 19 teams' student-athletes are eager to get back on the field and courts, and we will make sure that we provide them this opportunity through practice opportunities and skill instruction in the fall within a safer and more controlled environment as permitted by local, state and institutional guidelines," said Molloy's Director of Athletics Susan Cassidy-Like.
