Molloy Shows Technology It Will Use To Keep Students Safe

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Molloy College demonstrated new temperature kiosks that are designed to help support coronavirus procedures on campus when it reopens for the Fall 2020 semester, one of several initiatives that will be in place for the start of classes.

The temperature kiosks have been installed at the entrances to buildings and residence halls on campus. They take the forehead temperature of any person entering the building. If someone fails a temperature check, they are given instructions on the kiosk on how to seek medical attention. Medical isolation rooms have also been established to immediately handle students who display symptoms of COVID-19.

Molloy plans to start class on Sept. 8. Students will have a combination of in-person and online classes. Students in physical class will be socially distanced. All three of the school's residence halls will also be open, but rooms will be limited to singles and doubles. The school has also increased signs around the campus about social distancing, and face masks will be required in public spaces.
