National Fitness Training Brand F45 Opens In Rockville Centre
Head trainer Paisley Falvo said the Sunrise Highway location "would have opened much sooner," if not for the pandemic.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY —The timing worked for Paisley Falvo, who opened her F45 fitness studio in May.
A Lynbrook native, Falvo brings the renowned high-intensity group workout to Rockville Centre for people who've been dealing with 18 months of working at home.
"We were almost ready right before the pandemic," Falvo said, who is head trainer at the Sunrise Highway location. "We were in production. The space was being worked on; then, of course, [it] shut down. We would have opened much sooner."

Falvo is officially holding a location's grand opening on July 10 with classes, but also a DJ and giveaways as we see the tail-end of COVID-19 on Long Island.
The national fitness brand gained popularity when actor Mark Wahlberg became one of the investors.

Falvo, who graduated from Molloy College in 2016 with a Bachelor's in finance, is back at the school to get a Masters degree in mental health counseling.
"I would like to continue training people and working in the gym space and also find a job eventually doing counseling as well," Falvo said. "I'd love to figure out a way to blend the two [with] counseling through fitness. But I'm not sure how that would work just yet."
For now, though, Falvo runs at least half of the 45-minute classes (an hour on Saturdays). The 25 classes, at various times of the day, focus on strength, cardio and form-focus training with no mirrors in the studios. She previously worked out of the F (functional training) 45 studio in Long Beach.
"We make sure everyone is doing the right movement and their body is the way it's supposed to be," she said.
They have two membership plans-- monthly unlimited and eight classes per month.
Falvo is seeing a fairly even split between men and women members, sometimes participating together as a couple. She said 16 is the youngest age allowed with parental permission, while the range goes into the 60s.
"The great thing about the classes we offer is that it's super adaptable based on your abilities," Falvo said. "We can modify things. We can make things more challenging. It's open to all levels of fitness."
That allows most of the standard reasons for joining F45, including wanting to lose weight and tone their bodies, but regardless of the rationale, she said members prefer the group method of fitness.
"We're able to offer what I like to call a 'fit fan feeling' in an environment that's much more monitored," she said.
Falvo, who is also the Molloy cheerleading assistant coach, loves her ties to the community.
"I'm really excited to be in Rockville Centre," Falvo said. "It's such a great town. I think it's an awesome gym to be brought to the area."
