New Halal Food Restaurant Opens In Rockville Centre

Zora's Halal Grill, a family-owned restaurant, has opened on Long Island.

Zora's Halal Grill is ready to compete with chain halal restaurants on Long Island.

The independently-owned eatery, which recently opened in Rockville Centre, is run by Zorah Hamid and her family.

At 91 N. Park Ave., the halal spot is both a sit-down and take-out restaurant, serving traditional halal favorites like chicken, lamb and falafel over rice and gyros. Patrons can also get burgers, hot wings, cheesesteaks and more.

With all food being made from scratch, over-rice platters are $6.99, gyros are $4.99 and all other foods are priced around those numbers.

Zora's Halal Grill is open Monday-Sunday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
