A Rockville Centre athlete was invited to play in the 2015 Brine National Lacrosse Academy.
Shaye Backus, a student at Southside Middle School, was invited to take part in the selective lacrosse program this summer in Virginia.
The Brine National Lacrosse Classic, which collects the top middle school lacrosse players from across the country, is set for June 29-July 2. Athletes are guided by NCAA lacrosse coaches.
